Meet James Sales
James Sales has been a prosecutor for over 30 years. He believes in making Nueces County a safe place to live and work, and that is why he is running for District Attorney of Nueces County. James Sales has spent the last three decades working in various offices—professional development and specialization in courtroom presence and skills has always been central to his work in becoming a more effective advocate for public safety.
During these three decades, James has spent ten years prosecuting offenders of violent crimes such as murder, aggravated sexual assault, and felony assault. James has handled hundreds of drug cases and specialized in asset forfeiture for four years. He has also written and argued to the Court of Criminal Appeals, where several of his five former clients have won reversal.
As our Nueces County District Attorney, James Sales will always prioritize the safety of the public and will always advocate for the innocent. With his years long desire to run into forensics, James has taken that idea and brought it to life. He tirelessly supports technologically advanced solutions that will provide law enforcement with capabilities only otherwise seen on TV shows.
James Sales was raised in Nueces County his whole life. Born in Nueces County, attended school in Corpus Christi and later attended Texas A&M University and South Texas College of Law in Houston. James wants to carry on the traditions instilled in him growing up in Nueces County? Hard work, honesty, continual professional development and respect for all.

- Attend Nob Hill Legal Forum where legal rights, public safety, voluntary services, open discussion, integrity, neighborhood watch and code compliance information, are shared while discussing other topics that help you take action and become an informed citizen.
- When you see me at community events, please introduce yourself. Your answers to the survey questions, will help campaign researchers understand problems in your area and the issue you face with your neighborhood.
- Share with the campaign your idea of solutions. Scott Jones is graduate student at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. He is focusing on security and stability for all the city of Corpus Christi neighborhoods.

James Sales – Someone with Proven Courtroom Experience to Represent Nueces County
As a long-time prosecutor and resident of Nueces County, Amayrco “James” Sales is no stranger to the people he will represent in Nueces County as District Attorney. Beginning his practice in September 1985, James Sales has spent over 30 years of hands-on experience in the courtroom, meeting all of the qualities necessary for Nueces County District Attorney.
Over the course of 30 years, Sales has not ‘lost’ a case despite his string of successes in prosecutor’s offices throughout South Texas. From crimes such as intoxicated manslaughter and violator offenses to impact offender and even sexual assault cases, Sales is a firm believer that prosecution shouldn’t be about counts or winning at all costs. He agrees with Ms. Dodek that Nueces County needs a leader who can unite all facets of the office to continue achieving excellence in the pursuit of justice for Corpus Christi and beyond.
